Our setup is built for aerospace-grade cleanliness and repeatability — which is why customers trust us with components where the finish has to hit spec the first time.

  • Blastech has developed proprietary coating techniques that meet exacting industry standards while delivering better cost-performance for our customers. We also work as a testing facility for material science partners, running production-scale trials on new coating chemistries and application methods — including chrome-free paint systems.

    That testing-partner relationship keeps our process at the front edge of what's possible in industrial coatings, and it means our customers benefit from advances before they become standard.

  • Commercial and defense engine components, including long-running work on Pratt & Whitney products. We handle coatings to PWA specifications (PWA 110 Series, PWA 568/569), dimensional restoration, and surface preparation for critical flight-rated components.

    Typical parts: blades, discs, casings, stators, blade retention hardware.

  • Industrial gas turbine and rotating equipment components for Pratt & Whitney GG3 and GG4 engine platforms, among others. Customers like PSEG Power and Turbine Maintenance, Inc. have relied on Blastech for coating, repair, and restoration of mission-critical parts for decades.

    Typical parts: cases, disks, hubs, spacers, stators, rotors.

  • Pumps, valves, fittings, housings, and custom equipment requiring protective or functional finishes. Epoxies, powder coatings, and specialty enamels to OEM or in-house specifications.

  • Blastech works directly with original equipment manufacturers and alongside MROs who route specific operations to us. For MRO partners, we become the surface prep, coating, or restoration extension of your own shop — with documentation that feeds your quality system.

Joe knows every job in the shop because he has done every job in the shop. A steady, constant presence and as hard a worker as anyone has ever met, he is the best at what he does — and just as good at helping the team around him reach the same standard.

Bill Wolpert, Co-President

Bill's primary focus is our customer relationships and logistics. He is the face and the voice our customers have come to rely on — the person who makes sure every job is done right and delivered on time.
Together, Joe and Bill step into new roles committed to continuing and expanding the trusted partnerships Blastech has built over the past three decades.

Karl Wolpert, Co-Founder & Advisor

Karl has been a steady hand in the business since its founding. As co-founder and father to the family now leading the company forward, he continues to guide Joe, Bill, and the team with the perspective of someone who has been there from day one.

Tara Adolph, Operations Manager

Tara brings more than 21 years of corporate management and business experience to Blastech, with a background that includes leadership roles at UNFI and Compass Group. As Operations Manager, she oversees pricing, scheduling, and the day-to-day rhythm of the business. A lifelong friend of the Wolpert family, Tara is a trusted and highly capable resource for both our team and our customers.

In Memory of Jeffrey D. Wolpert

1970 – 2024

Founder & President of Blastech Overhaul & Repair

Blastech exists because Jeff Wolpert had the vision and the guts to start it. At 23, he opened the doors of a small sandblasting shop in 1990 with our father, Karl, at his side — and over the next three decades grew it into a trusted name in gas turbine engine overhaul and repair.
He pioneered the proprietary processes that became Blastech's signature and set the exacting standards that still govern every part that comes through our doors. If a part came into Blastech, Jeff had probably seen it — and more than likely, worked on it himself.

The Foundation He Left Us

Jeff passed away on December 30, 2024. The loss is one we'll carry forever — but he didn't leave us empty-handed.
He left a company built on integrity and craftsmanship, a team that knew and loved him, and the next chapter of Blastech in the hands of family. His brother Joe Cocco, who worked alongside Jeff for thirty years, and his brother Bill Wolpert, who stood beside him for seventeen, now lead the company together — guided by our father, Karl Wolpert, the original co-founder who helped Jeff lay the very first brick.
We carry his standards forward. We carry his name with pride. And we keep building on the foundation he poured for all of us.
